This morning I got to work at six fifteen again and checked over the special orders, researched all the titles left over from yesrterday, edited the new discount cards, and did the Big Brother checklist. There weren’t a whole lot of mistakes, so it was a good morning.
From eight thirty to nine fifteen I called in orders to publishers. The new guy, Mike, showed up at nine and Dave went over the paperwork with him and told him to come back tomorrow; I’ll be starting his training tomorrow. For the rest of my day I worked on boxing up and sending out Battle Book orders. I took a fifteen minute lunch at eleven thirty and a fifteen minute break from Battle Books at about one to call customers and let them know when their books would arrive.
So it was all Battle Books all day long, 39 packages, 520 pounds, totaling a few thousand dollars in merchandise. At least there were very few interruptions. I think I’m in a good spot for starting the training tomorrow. Hopefully this newbie will catch on as quickly as the last one did.
